The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) joined the rest of country in commemorating the International Women’s Day which fell on 8th March, 2015 under the theme "Gender is my agenda: make it happen".
The IBA members of staff took part in a march past from Emmasdale Police Station to Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Zambia will on 3rd May 2015 join the rest of the world in commemorating World Press Freedom Day under the theme Media and Gender Reporting in Digital Age.
The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) shall also participate in the commemoration and has been involved the preparations for the event. The IBA is a member of the World Press Freedom Day organising committee. Among the activities lined up for this year commemoration in Lusaka, is a march past from the Main Post Office along Cairo Road to the Freedom Statute in Kamwala.
In an effort to publicise the event a number of media appearances and interviews have been arranged. Recently, the World Press Freedom Day Organising Committee Chairman Enock Ngoma, and committee members Henry Kabwe and Katendi Wandi featured on ZNBC TV 2 Press Club Programme and highlighted some of the activities that have been arranged as part of this year’s world press freedom day commemoration.
